Why Not Write Your Own Book?

Welcome,

This site  is an informational site for Indie Authors, Independent Authors that is new to the world of publishing.  I have always thought of writing my book since at a very young age.  Looking back I wished I had wrote that first book, however, it is never to late.

I have always enjoyed to write. I am a freelance writer at http://hubpages.com/my/profile/profile. I am currently working on my first book and it is almost complete. I am excited to make my dream come true.  I decided to take control and become my own boss and have my own  publishing company.  To be announced soon!!!  After doing some research, I have learned that if you write, you can publish your own book.  Becoming and Independent Author or otherwise known as Indie Author is a great feeling.  In addition, to that you get to tell your story.

Figuring out what kind of book(s) I wanted to write was a given.  I decided to write fiction books.  I have experienced alot of trials and tribulations in my life that by sharing my stories, I will be able to help others and empower them in their life. If you are an expert on a certain topic, why not write about it.  Becoming your own publisher allows you also to have financial freedom.  Something we all want.

Becoming a self-publish is in high demand these days.  More people are self-publishing as opposed to looking for a publishing company to publish their work.  Here are just some reasons why Indie Authors/Authors are becoming independent.

There are no upfront costs -You heard that right! You can actually publish your book
without paying thousands of dollars to a publishing company. That’s the beauty of a concept called, “print on demand.” It allows anyone and everyone the opportunity to publish without a big initial investment. So if you have no budget…no worries! We’ll show you the resources you need to get published on a shoe-string budget…just like we did!

You make more money on royalties - Most of the time you can make a higher percentage
on the royalties of your book when you self publish. Do your research and make sure you know what’s in it for you. There are self publishing companies that will charge you thousands of dollars up front and end up keeping a bigger percentage of your profits! Depending on your goals, self publishing with the companies we recommend may be the best route for you.

You maintain full copyright of your work - You will still be in full control. It’s your original
work and you deserve to keep full rights to it…and you will.

You can publish your work with a publishing company later - Don’t feel like you’re limiting your options if you self publish. You are actually expanding your options by getting
something done and in print and making you extra money. You can always get published with a publishing company later…that door is never closed!

You get your own ISBN - When you self publish you get your own ISBN which gives your book a professional look. You’ll leave room for the barcode and ISBN number on your book cover which gives the appearance of professionalism and gives you instant credibility.

You can publish quickly - Because I’m an action taker and love getting things done, I love this one! Believe me, if you put forth the time and energy required, you can get your ideas published fast! And it’s simple. All you need to do is simply type your text and format it in a Word document. Then, you’ll save it as a PDF and upload it to your self publishing company online. You can do a simple cover design yourself or you can hire someone to do it for you. I’ve even found volunteers online that have helped me with some of my projects. The bottom line? When you self publish, you can produce products fast!

You can sell your items online, at events and Amazon.com - Most companies will give you a turn-key system to sell your items online with your own webpage and system to accept credit cards for you. Some may also submit your items to other websites like Amazon.com. My books are usually available online immediately and through Amazon.com within a week. Not only that, but I can order books at a big discount to take with me and sell at events.

Enjoy!  Stay tune for more information to help you on your way to writing your first book!
